I, like many others, didn't want to name any names in my review of GMB VI. Not because I didn't want to but because I didn't want to leave any names out.

I do want to give a HUGE shout out to Mike, popfuhre393, for coming to the track on Sunday. Over this last year Mike has been to hell and back with some medical problems. He showed up at the track on Sunday morning with his usual smile on his face and his personality intact. I just want you to know (even though you are a retired a fireman) I think of you often!! I was happy to see you and get to chat with you for a few minutes. You are a strong man Mike and a class act...that speaks volumes.

Whether he intends to be or not, he is a huge inspiration to me. Despite everything he's been through, he always has a smile on his face. Love ya Pop!!!

VERY WELL said Ernie! Mike "Pop" Fuhre is a very special man who's smile I see in those times when I need it most. I admire him as a man, person and especially friend. Pop - THANKS for always being there for us! You Sir have my sincere respect, admiration and love.

Agreed! I was very happy to see Pop pull in the gate! I did all I could to force him to keep his $10. I SWEAR I DID! But he wouldn't have it.
And I agree with Char. He IS an inspiration.

I looked for you to make an intro but couldn't find you. I know you would like pop. When you do meet him, you'll know exactly of what we speak.

Wait, you didn't get to meet him?

Even though the times I have spent with him are short...they are as sweet as they can be!

I really like his attitude. He is very encouraging.
He just makes me feel so good about my self!

Thats my pop! I can't believe it, he's hardly slowed down if he has at all...He's like the energizer bunny...keeps going, and going...you know the rest. Hard to believe he has time to get ANYTHING done with all the time he puts into polishing that hog of his!

Brother Ernie, you put me on the spot, I have to respond to such a great post. I thank you all for your support. I am humbled and thankfull I have so many Friends that I love like family. I can't wait for the next get togather, I know I will be stronger to join in on all the activities.

I've already gotten several questions about what's up so here you go; I was diagnosed with lung cancer July 05. While preparing for sugergy in December got diagnosed with cancer in the other lung (not spread but new cancer). Had surgery to remove part of my right lung in Dec 05. Preliminary tests after surgery also found a new cancer in my esophagus. Did radiation for Left lung in January 06. Radiation and Chemo for esophagus Feb, Mar and Apr 06. Things looked good for a while but then Sept 06 the esophageal cancer reared it's ugly head again. They tried three surgical procedures to remove it but couldn't. February 7, 2007 I underwent a total Laryngectomy, which turned out to be the most dramatic event in my entire life I ended up 4 days in ICU and still recovering.

I want you all to know; my Family, Friends and you'all are the reason I keep going, Thank You each an every one!
