maybe... We outta do that and see. We also have access to a pretty modded Banshee that we should run some testing against and see. YFZ vs TRX450R vs Banshee vs Banshee (Clink116's) vs TRX250R. That would be a good time. We'd of course need to get all that on video too. Maybe we could even get some modded TRX450R's out there too. No promise though, just thoughts.

I'll try to answer everyone's questions. Faded, MSRP on TRX = $6,499, YFZ = $6,899. Compared to a Z400, the TRX probably handles similar, but the power is no where near the 450's. My buddy has a piped Z400 and he can't even get close to me, but I think they're the 3rd best machine out there. As far as the 250R giving the YFZ competition, absolutely. It's no stocker. It has +2 A-arms, 18" tires, etc with a 310 kit, drilled carb, Heavy duty clutch with CR500 springs, port, polish, milled head, etc. On the track it would rip, however it still has stock suspension, which is not nearly as good as the YFZ or the TRX's stock suspension. In the dunes it would not do too well with the wide stance, it would bull doze. I'm pretty sure with the pipe and airbox lid removed, it would give my sisters highly modded Banshee a run for it's money up the hill, but don't know if it would beat it or not. Dr. D is working on a pipe for the TRX now and it should be done in about two weeks, then we'll see how the TRX keeps up piped against the piped YFZ.

Like I said before. $4k and it's yours. It is a sweet bike. I wish I could afford to keep it.

i also had a chance to ride the yfz once. i gave it all i could and she still wanted more. one key factor i like also is the suspension set-up. more and easy for me to change. i like the front a little soft and the rear a little stiff. just cause i like to keep my weight back alot and wheelie off jumps when i land to get ready for the next. know what i mean? i can do this very well on the blaster. i think it helps me and feel comfort =able doing it like that so i probably will keep on. good write up woody

What do you want pics of? The 250R? Here's a link to some pics I put up earlier. You have to scroll down a little ways: 250R & YFZ

Nice write up!! My motor builder said putting the CR 500 springs in the 250R clutch is actually a step backward, as the CR 500 doesn't have the same number of springs? I may have to check into that.

I'm not sure it's better either... The clutch pull at the lever is really stiff on that R.

I think what he was talking about is that there are 6 springs for the CR 500, but only 5 springs for the 250R, therefore, you actually have LESS spring pressure when putting the springs into a 250R since you are only utilizing 5 out of the 6. He recommended the Barnett, or some other aftermarket springs other than the CR 500 springs.

It has a Kevlar clutch with CR 500 springs and the clutch is not bad to pull, I don't think. It feels way strong. As far as the TRX and YFZ shootout, just got back from the dunes and I prefer the YFZ a lot more. The TRX reminded me a lot of the Raptor in the way it handles in the sand. I'll expound more later.
