I don't have a pit bike, but from what i've seen and heard, a lot of people go with hondas.. the CRF or XR, not sure which. Both have a huge aftermarket. New shocks, forks, exhaust, wheels, etc etc. the list goes on. Do some research, find some pit-bike aftermarket sites and see what they have to offer for each brand of bike!

I had owned pitbikes and just sold a Honda pitbike I had over $4000 into. They are definetly more expensive, but the difference in quality isn't even comparable. The only China pitbike I would get is a Pitster Pro. Right now in this economy you can get modified Hondas for WAY under what there worth. Check out craigslist. You should be able to get a crf50 with 88 kit, decent suspension(BBR), extended swing arm etc.. for around $1000. Check out planetminis.com for used parts. You can find a ton for cheap.

I own a few Honda "pit" bikes: z50r, xr70r and xr75. All are high quality and very reliable. I've had one of them for over 30 years now and it runs like new. Try that with a Chinese bike!

yea, the Extreme pit bike. I owned one. If I bought another, it would be another Extreme. Hands down the best I have rode for pits.

I've got an '09 Pitster Pro, scarfed-up one of the factory's Vegas bikes....a nicely modded 192cc (14/12). I was skeptical of the reliability, that's why I opted for the used bike (1 national)...figured if it lasted for a pro, it oughta' hold-up for me for awhile. It's doing fine, so far and lemme' tell ya'....that li'l puppy will haul a**! The power-to-weight ratio, is about the same as a 2-stroke open class bike. My wife has the enduro version (stock 165cc)with 17" front and 14" rear wheels, she prefers it over her XR200. It's a blast to ride and it's been mechanically reliable.

I have a chinese SSR 110dx pitbike that I just use as a pitbike, but I wouldn't use it for anything else, if you want a good one go Japanese.

The Kaw 110 is a popular pitbike platform but the small frame makes 'em really cramped and they handle like a wet dishrag. The PP frame is close to that of a CRF 150, just has smaller wheels. PP sells a roller chassis that you can put in any motor you want.

Only 10% of us are cool enough to ride pitbikes.
