Default Should I get the crf 150 or 230 as a first bike?

I've only ever ridden my brothers crf 100 before and not very much but I want want to get my own bike and I can't decide between the 150 or 230.
I'm a beginner but I have done a little riding before. I'm 5'6", weigh 130lbs and I'm female.

Is the 230 to much of a bike for my level? I'm just worried I'll get too good on the 150 and have to upgrade it to the 230 to soon, I'd rather just have to buy the one bike.

What kind of riding are you going to be doing? The CRF150F is a good starter bike. There isn't a huge performance difference going to the CRF230F. You'll have some more power but both bikes are manageable. These are great trail bikes with a suspension that suits that type of riding. If your going to do anything more aggressive there is also the CRF150R. The bike will have significantly more power than the CRF150F and the suspension will be able to handle MX, SX, and pretty much anything you can throw at it. So I recommend the CRF230F if you're going to trail ride, ride in an open field, things like that. If you plan on ever going to a MX track, riding in sand, or doing something like a hare scramble then the CRF150R is your choice. Please remember, that CRF150R will eat that CRF230F up. It may be a smaller motor but it is more aggressively tuned and is liquid cooled. So, there is a bit of a warning with the CRF150R and it's the power compared to the others. I believe that 4 strokes are easier to manage the throttle on than 2 strokes so to me it's a little less of a concern, but it is a concern. So if your not complaining about the power of the CRF100 then maybe the CRF150R is to much.
