Cowboy, those Chinese quads's are crap, don't go there. Your girl will be more heartborken when it doesnt run anymore.

Well we ended up getting the little quads, got an even better deal than we anticipated and sold one to my uncle to cut our costs way down. Now for the not so good news... I accidentally broke the key off on the one we are keeping but managed to fish it out of the ignition. I'm having a hard time finding someone that can cut a new key, so I tried bypassing the ignition switch by jumping the wires together but I can't get the quad to turn over. If I swap the key cylinder from the other quad it will turn over. I've dug through Google and I can't find a good wiring diagram... I'm hoping if I run the black wires from the key switch to ground maybe I'll get lucky... any ideas?

Good news- I pulled and cleaned the carb (quite a bit of varnish) and swapped the key cylinder from the other quad onto Alyssa's and got it running, she putted it up and down the street last night and was all grins

good luck with that. i was going to suggest a KTM mini adventure 50, it has a set of trainning wheels that could be bolted on. It's a sweet little bike. and would last for a few years... unfortunately my kid is growing out of his and we'll be looking for something a little bigger next spring.
