My vote would be for the honda CRF450. Though I'd have to look long and hard at the KXF.

If your thinks YZF then go YZF. (and that's not being bias, I am 100% RED)
There isn't a single new 450 out there that anyone would be disappointed with.
Good luck with the new steed whatever way you go anyway

The Yamaha is not fuel injected. Maybe 2010 but i bet it wont be until about 2011 or 12. The carburator is still getting it done for them.

The EFI is a definate plus. I am a Yami guy since birth but if I was to be in the market for an '09 it would be a EFI bike, I think.

I am still a 2-smoker and loving it.

I don't know if Supercross gets broadcast to you on the regular scheduled dates down under. James Stewart and his new blue bike sputtered out of a turn (some suggest he missed a shift) and he got smacked from behind by Chad Reed at Anaheim 1 on the YZ450F. After he got hit a second time getting up (Wyndham?) - he tried to kick start the bike over & over. It wouldn't and then he bailed not finishing the race at all. The crew didn't have that baby dialed in like they did by Phoenix. He even made a comment on one of the podium interviews about the ole carbie keeping up with the new EFIs on the other big 3 brand bikes. I'm a Suzuki guy, but Transworld Motocross' 2009 450 shootout gave the nod to the CRF450, Kawi a close 2nd (better for taller riders). They said that Suzuki didn't make significant changes from the 2008 RMZ450 when they were first to the table with EFI. What are the going 2009 model prices by you?

So the short answer is no. KTM and Yamaha do not have EFI on their 2009 models.

The Kawasaki has the best mapped FI to the engine, The new Honda's FI is mapped to rich, and will give you problems with starting and stalling, it's even worse here on very hot days, something our American friends haven't expieranced yet. I have mates that bought them and they are not impressed with the FI problems. You can get them remapped or buy the tool yourself for a small fortune $600 Also the Suzuki's had a recall here on the 08 models for crankcase or gearbox failures, not sure which one but if you bought one they were replacing the engines, not to sure where that finished up, so a cheap 08 could be a problem, Blue or Green would be my pick.
