| I have the 07 CRF250r and really like it. I had the suspension set up for my weight, love the ergos right out of the box. It turns well, handles well. Power was a little weak but I have been on CRF450's and YZF 450 so you'll have that on most any 250F. I added a Dr. D exhaust and quickshot 2 and added one tooth to the rear sprocket and that all helped off the bottom a lot. I have little experience on the KTM except I raced/ rode a friends 04 250sx 2 smoke which I liked and another friends 03 450SX which I did not like the ergos on at all. Peg to bars to seat height was way awkward for me at 6'00. It seems the KTM's dont hadle well in supercross and do OK outdoors based on the same riders performance on other bikes like Nick Wey, Mike Allesssi and a few 250F riders. I'd go CRF for mostly MX, just my opinion. anyway I'd get the CRF keep it well maintained, clean oil and air filter and enjoy. |

Your opinion is correct, the no-link is far surpassed by the linkage in sx.But with the right rider will stomp on a outdoor national. An outdoor track is very much like a gncc track minus the trees, thats where the no-link strives. The worse the track is,the better the rear end will act.Cant wait for the 2010 ktm's,supposed to have a linkage. |

| I rode the 08 KTM 250sx and it felt like it had no power at all. It was brand new, so that might have been some of the problem. He's got some hours on it now, so I'll have to try it again and see what shes got |

| 2 or 4 stroke? The 250sx has a two stage ignition and some came from the factory on the mellow (traction) stage. You can buy a toggle switch to go back to back on a track and go fast or get traction in wet clay and mud.The four stroke does rev out better whe it has some hours on it. | One of my mates had his son racing a 250 sxf, he is a good rider top 5 most times. But boy he had a lot of trouble with that bike, 2 blowups, top engine mounts broke, rubber boot from carby to engine broke. He reckons they just have to much engine vibration, and the steel frame doesn't like it. The suspension is crap stock, he changed over to yama ha ha this year, now all he has to worry about is blowing up clutches |

| lucahemi, when choosing between the two you should consider what dealers are close and whether or not they are a "good" dealer. I have good experience with the CRF. If you aren't afraid to be a little different don't overlook the Husqvarna, your area has one of the best dealers in North America (Hall's Cycle). There has been a lot of mention regarding maintenance in this thread, hands down, there is not an easier bike to work on than the Husky, weather you're checking the valves, cleaning the air filter or jetting the carb these bikes are simple. Okay, I'm done my little commercial. |

| Patience Cody. Now that big bucks BMW has taken over Husqvarna good things will happen. Just last week Husqvarna North America had a corporate sponsored dealer meeting (first in nearly 20 years). From what I understand they are planning huge changes. They have the ball rolling on some things plus lots of changes for 2110 and beyond, we'll have to see if the new economy makes an impact on the reality of these changes happening. |

| Just realized you are in Illinois. We havs some good used bike on our site [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] . I know of an 06 RMZ250 that can be had for $2500. I know the owner Blake is a good guy. anyway.... Hall's Husky shop is in SPringfield, Il. ABout 40 minutes from where I live. I know some local racers who race them. I never have. Rode a 400 a few years ago and it was alright. I dont think they handle like a japanese bike from what the guys said but they liked them ok and do pretty well on them. Silver Fox is right. They have a great rep. for service. I Def like the guys at the shop and mechanics I know from there that race. Brian H., Mark R., one of our "A" Dist. 17 champs Blake Y. rode them for Halls. ANother vet rider Randy S. rides the 250 2 stroke in mx,, and Jay Hall is a good guy. Many off orad racers like them. I just read a feature in Nov. issue MXAction on the new Huskys. They say theTC 250 was light and dry weight was 202 lbs. They said it was not ready yet at test time so they just rode the 450 nd 510. They liked them pretty well. I recall reading that EFI is in the works . Oh yeh they also have a TCX310 that sounds like a good vet bike. Electric start on some models too. anywa...............I am going on now forvever |
