Question KTM 250 or honda 250?

ive been wanting to upgrade to a 250, from an xr80, because im 5'8" 140 pounds and ive ridden a 150, but i can all ready touch flat footed with bends in my knees, so ive decided to save for a 250, id like to race when i get comfortable with the bike, but it will be mainly trail ridden
so my question is Which bike should i get? a crf250 or any ktm 250 four stroke?

get the honda-simple answer to a complicated question that deals with so much more than how much you weigh and how tall you are.

When you say CRF250 are you talking "R" or "X"?
X for trails and R for motocross.

If it were me, I think I'd get the KTM personally. But in the end you have to decide what you can afford and what you like best since they are all great bikes.

the ktm, in my opinion, is better looking, but ive loved ktms since i saw the super duke, and i found a ktm 250sxf for 200 bucks more then a honda 250, and i want to be different and not fit in with the honda riding group

Seriously....who cares? Ride a bike that fits you the best. My first race I got beat (badly) by a 70 year old man with a left side kicked husky on a dead engine start. Beat me by 20 bikes...hey I have pride but man that "old timer" SMOKED me and I'll tilt my hat to him and give him a lot of respect! It isn't the bike, it's the rider but if you want an opinion from someone who switch from Honda to KTM here it is. I GOT USED TO IT. I ADJUSTED and it took some time to learn how ride all over again. A year ago (almost to the day) the honda railed corners like a dream where the KTM dove a little in the front end. After a year on the KTM I got bumped from Nov to Int and carry 4th in my class, which consist of Beg-Exp. Last weekend I rode the that CR (after a year on the KTM) and I could not ride it if my life depended on it, as I am used to the KTM. Take your blinders off and pick a bike that suites YOU not what everyone WANTS you to ride.
