Default Initial Thoughts- 01 Polaris 700 RMK

Although I am largely unqualified to talk about some of the aspects of my snowmobile since I'm relatively new and unexperienced when it comes to sleds, I'm going to state my initial thoughts after putting 100 miles on my sled. Here's the skinny on the machine:

01 Polaris 700 RMK, 144" track, bone stock save a few bling-bling items and a lefty throttle

Starting
Starts effortlessly, as long as the gas is turned on I don't think it's ever taken more than 3-4 pulls to start it.

Tranny
Snowmobiles don't have "trannys" per se, but the clutch system would qualify to be discussed here. I am very happy with the clutching setup on this sled, I can't see why it would need any tweaks with the stock motor. I know nothing about clutching and tuning clutches, but I do know that my machine responds the way I would expect it to.

Engine
The power is great on this sled, no complaints! It's nice that it is mellow when the throttle is gradually applied, but when you really open it up you know! It runs smooth also, although I did pick up a bit of vibration at around 50-55 MPH.

Suspension
Awesome! Soaks up bumps in the trail like nobody's business. The ride is really smooth. It tracks straight and doesn't dart 90% of the time as well, but the front end gets a little darty when the skid gets packed with snow.

Ergo's
Almost perfect, but for stand-up riding the bars could be a smidge taller for my 6'2" frame.

Brakes
STRONG! Work great!

Final analysis
I'm very pleased with my new sled. I won't compare it to my old one, because that would be like comparing my YZ 426 to an XR 250, they just aren't in the same class. So far, there isn't one thing I would change about this sled, other than the scratches in the hood from a trailer unloading mishap
