Hey im not new to riding im just used to quads(250s) and atcs since i was about 7 years old...im planning to get a dirtbike soon and i want to know wat bike would be good for me...i just turned 14 im 5'7'' and weigh 125lbs...i plan on getting a cheap bike that can at least keep up with a 2004 yamaha blaster but just to use for trail riding and maybe racing with quads on sand/dirt but not mx/sx or anything like that just to ride around like a normal person...so tell me wat u can that can help...plz help/give advice...thx! and to answer any later questions...this will be my first dirtbike to drive(ive ridden on my uncles friends cr500 but as passenger...i dont know wat he did to it but he says he can hit 100mph in 3rd gear), the quads were all 4 stroke, and im just looking for a model thats not that new or expensive...(-2003)

good bike to start on for a quad rider. kdx 200. bullet proof and cheep. find on craigslist for 600 bucks. around 3500 new. last of them made in 2006. i have rode one and really mellow power. safer than quads. good for novices. it is a trail bike not a agressive race bike,. 2 stroke cheap to work on. will beat a trx250r. i have done it

KDX would be a good starting point, as would an XR 200 or CRF 230 (heavier but shorter 4 strokes).
