Hey, i'm new to this forum as i just wanted some advice on what bike would suit me best. I'm 17, 5'1 weigh just under 7 stone, doubt ill grow much more as i have been this hieght for the past 4 years :S lol i have ridden on and off most of my childhood so i'm not a complete novice. I currently ride a Thumpstar Pro 120 pit bike for a laugh and have ridden it round tracks and for trials but i would like to get a bigger bike to ride at tracks and occasionally trials. i have tried to ask my dad as he is very experienced in everything with an engine but of course being his daughter he doesn't want me riding in case i get hurt! i was considering a ttr 125 or a crf150? but i think the 125 would be better as it is smaller and lighter? or should i consider a 2 stroke?

I think either of those bikes will be fine, as long as you don't plan on getting much air. Both of those bikes are better suited for trails and have rather soft suspension in stock form. I have seen both at our local mx tracks though. You might consider looking into a big wheel two stroke 85 or perhaps a kx100. It would help if you could find those bikes to sit on to size them up. Welcome to atm.

I assume you mean trails rather than trials? Trials as in the ultra-technical, slow speed competitions requires a very specialized machine (its also possible there are other types of trials I'm unaware of). For mx and trails I'd suggest a two stroke 85cc bike. They are very light and have much better handling and suspension than the small air cooled four stroke bikes. They are also easier to start and have much more power. My mom, wife and sister all ride them and just love them. They do need to be setup properly with jetting and such, but it is very easy to do, maintenance is a breeze as well. I'm 5'10" and 160lbs and they have enough power to hall me around a sandy MX track at a respectable pace. Suspension wasn't even half bad. The bigwheel versions (CR85 expert, KX100, RM100, KTM105 etc) are also great bikes, but probably a bit tall for you unless you are all legs (my mom is 5'3"ish and does best on the small-wheel 85cc models, my wife is 5'6" and does best on the big wheel version - a kx100 for her). The CRF150F is a bit tall and quite a bit heavy for someone your size (heck, its heavier than my CR250R). The TTR125 is a good bike and the KLX140 is also worth consideration (similar in size to the TTR, but a bit more power and slightly better chassis/suspension/brakes).
