85 s? which one

I am 35 years old ride motocross have owned a few minis I have had a cr80 2001 and I now have a 96 rm80 i have ridden a 2000 yz 80

I liked all of them here what I remember 2001 cr 80 harder to ride as far as power when compared to the rm80( no power valve in the cr) same with the yz

handling on the yz was better than the cr
how much has the engine changed on the rm from 96 to now?

I am a honda guy all the way I ride a new crf 450 as my main track bike.
But
I just sold the best bike ever made that was a yz 125 so when it comes to riding a 2 stroke I can do it.

This bike would be sprung for my weight and jumped at poleline rd and ridden at mini nights at the track

Really like my 96 rm 80 but need something newer for the track
I would love to have a crf150 but they are a little pricey for a mini
I want to spend around the $1500 mark for a good used low hour bike someone bought and was scared of. Lots of these on Craigslist most are hondas

Any info or feed back is welcome
can anyone tell me what years they made big changes to the cr or rm I think the 2033-2006 cr85 is the same???

Yamaha, yz 85's are great, but they haven't changed since about 2002, which is good if your buying second hand, there is plenty of parts and bikes out there.

Its hard to do but my vote goes for a kx 85. I had a 100 that freakin hauled, and the 85's arent far off from the 100.

I would go with they YZ 85 or even the CR 85. There are SOO many CR 85's out there they can be had for cheap, but I understand that they are not as realiable as the YZ 85. My kids yz85 is a screamer with tons of power. The stock bars suck though, so replace them ASAP.
