Default 2017 YZ125 for beginner?

Hi, I have been browsing around trying to figure out if I should get the 125, or crf230, and have seen very mixed responses. I have rode twice, both on the 230 in sand and caught on to riding very quick.

I really like the look of the 125 and hear its a fantastic bike but with a lot of punch to it. I intend on ripping around a track as I get better and also really enjoy the trails.

I really want to get the 125 and learn on it, but how hard is it for someone who is new but knows their limits and will be careful? Will it be a pain in the *** and complete disaster trying to learn?

I am 20 years old 6'2' and 170 pounds.

Thanks!

If you know the basics and are mature enough to ride within your limits for a while, I say a 125 will serve you better on a track.

125 can be difficult to ride as they lack bottom end, but they are the ultimate tool for learning on. They don't necessarily have enough power to get out of hand, but enough pep to get going pretty good. A 125 truly will make you a better rider in the long run!
If you can be fast on a 125, you can be fast on just about anything.
