Default 03 CR 250 OR 01 YZ 426???

I hate to do this but I've been searching trying to figure this one out myself and I come up just about equal (pros and cons )for each bike. 1st off, I am 39
6' tall, 185lbs. My riding experience is on 4 stroke quads. We do some fast trail riding and play racing, jumping (LOVE jumping!!). The only 2 stroke experience I have is my 1st quad,6-7 yrs. ago which was a Yam. blaster. I know I'm too big for one but it was what I could afford at the time. I lengthened the swingarm, put on race plastic, degree key...it was actually a lot of fun. The power was great, easy to ride. I like the constant grunt you get with a 4 stroke, like our 400EX, but then again I have a TRX450R that I am getting rid off because it is all or nothing. There is no "tractor-ing" around on that thing, if your not into the throttle it wants to chug and die, which talking to others is the norm for them. It is more tempermental than the 2 stroke blaster was. I like the cheaper rebuild aspect of 2 strokes, although I just did the top end in our 400EX and it wasnt bad. Piston $100, bore/hone and had the valves cleaned up/checked, although it's a single cam instead of a double like the YZ426. The reason I selected these two bikes is because my dealer is going to let me trade my TRX450R back to them for a suzuki LTZ400 and either the CR250 or the YZ426. Both bikes are nearly perfect, excellent shape. The CR has been well maintained and freshened up recently. They don't have much for history on the YZ426, other than like I said, it's very clean. I could see the cylinder nuts on the right side have been wrenched on,but who knows if its been rebuilt before. Sorry to ramble so long, any opinions? Thanks Guys, this forum is Great!!

I forgot to mentionthat hopefully Friday I am going to ride them both. They have a tiny little tight track behind the dealership. It's just I don't have much experience on bikes yet and I'm not sure if thats going to help me much. I also was going to ask if a flywheel weight would help smooth out the power on the 2 stroke?

The power from the YZ426 will be very similar to the TRX450R. Its all or nothing. Flywheels will definitely help (both bikes) but they are both MX bike that need to be ridden at or over mid throttle. Riding the bikes will help you make your decision. If I was buying a used bike with no history, I would get the CR250.

Thats what I'm leaning towards. I know it's history, and even if I didn't, it would be cheaper if things went wrong. Thanks also for giving me an idea of how the power comes on with the 426.

Unless the power on the 426's arent like the power of a 450..I thought the power was broad and smooth? like the the 450's?
