Default New bike for an old rider

Just got an YZ426F. I've had it out a couple of times now. Plenty of power and rides like a caddy.

Hey welcome to It is good to see that you are enjoying your new bike. How long has it been since you have ridden before this and what kind of riding do you like to do?

When I was younger, around 1969, I had my first minibike and I went with my parents to a place called Oak Springs down there in Southern California. We lived in Anaheim and Oak Springs was a weekend place. After that they bought a place in the high desert behind Big Bear in a place called Johnson Valley. My brother and I were bought a Kawasaki 80 and a Yamaha 175. We spent many years riding in the desert on dunes and trails and what not. Around 1978 we moved to Northern California. Cloverdale to be exact and I didn't ride as much due to a lack of riding areas. Just this past spring I bought a '02 raptor 660 and am having a ball. I have been to two MX races with it. One I crashed on the first lap. The second, I completed both motos. I say completed because I was grateful to have accomplished that. I could barely hang on at the end of the first moto and wasn't sure I would start the second but that old fire won't go out. I'm 45 years old and not supposed to do this kind of stuff ya know. I bought a YZ 426f last week as a birthday present for my daughter. We are having a great time together. Just on our way out for a little ride in the soon to be re-flooded San Joaquin river. Probably more infor than you were looking for. I'm sure I'll be back on this forum with questions about the 426f. I go to another forum for the raptor (bluetraxx).
