Default New to the 2 stroke scene

Well, i just picked up a '99 yz 125 this past weekend. I was big into the 50's and pitbikes for the past few years, and decieded to get a big bike.
here's a pic of the bike. it's all stock and runs great, but there's always room for upgrades!

Welcome to

Nice bike too, she looks like she could use a little love, but I'm sure you can take care of that.

Welcome to dirt bike Nirvana. 125 2 strokes are the most fun bikes to own period. That bike looks like it was rode hard and put away wet. Before riding I would highly recommend going over it relubing everything and tightening all of the bolts. The bike definitly looks salvagable for minamum amount of money.

A repaint is a good idea. just be sure to sand off all the rust and smooth the transitions to the old paint for a good looking job. Otherwise the rust will continue to keep eating and bubble the paint too. Works connection makes frame guards out of aluminum for the high wear spots to stop the paint from being rubbed off and having the same problem next season too.
