Hello everyone, my name is Sean and as I said I'm from Michigan.

I have been riding in the dirt off an on since I was about 12 or so, have ridden a little of everything from the yamaha chappy to an RM 80.

Looking to get back into the sport, just trail riding.

I would love some advice and information on th CR 250's.

I'm looking at purchasing a mid 90's, Or what's one of the better years production bike.

Thank You in advance

Sean

Hello and welcome to ATM
Where at in MI are you from? NW IN here MI is a great place for a rider.

As far as the CR's go if you can find a nice 95-96 that would be great, the motors are among the best Honda ever made. The frame from 97-99 were very stiff with the new aluminum box. If your not pushing the corners it wasn't horrible just feel the ground more than you might like. I have a 01' and I like it a lot. Good motor (not a fan of the RC valves) and the frame is good (not as good as the 02' and up though). Nice compromise all around but no graphics from 00-01.

Most of all find something you like, in good shape, for the right price and ride!

again Welcome to ATM.

I try to go up north trail riding a couple times a year. Most of my riding is outskirts of the city (Ypsilanti). I can ride from my house to the train tracks, from there we usually hit the garbage dump, abandoned factories, farm fields, etc.
Or just have fum with the local law LOL.

I just picked up a 97 cr250 with a trashed top end that im hoping will be ready this spring, I am getting beat up from this 85 cr.

\Where are you riding?

There are some Powerlines by my parents house in Woodhaven. Other than that I have some friends with private tracks. I know a guy who lets us ride on his property for $5 a day.
I used to ride some trails right off an exit ramp where M12 and 94 meet. There is a gas station in front of it now. Do people still ride there?
