| Hello, I am from Idaho Falls, Idaho. My name is Erin. I just bought my first bike. It is a 1997 Yamaha rt 180. I always have wanted a bike but my parents have never let me go riding. I found a bike on craigslist and thought I would go check it out. When I got there the guy told me to jump on and that is was easy so I did. Big mistake. I ran the bike straight into a tree. No damage was done to the bike but I still felt bad so I bought it. I just graduated from high school so i still live at home. The bike is hiding at a friends house so my parents don't find out. I have sort of figured out how to ride it but am far from being good or even ok at riding. It has been great fun. Everyone has been very helpful so far. I will be moving to California to start college this fall. I don't know if I will be able to keep the bike hidden for that long. Thanks for all the help. |

| ha ha, I'm sorry to hear about the purchase fun, but we've all ran something over before. I think it's mandatory when learning to ride. Now about the parents... I was lucky. I had an older brother that bought a bike and kept it at a friends house -- so he broke my parents in for my younger brother and I. It was pretty funny when my Dad asked him why he was riding the bike all the time (it was an enduro so he could ride it on the streets too) -- his reply was he was borrowing it. My Dad called BS, and they worked it out. Now that I mention this, I think I'm going to have to ask him how that conversation went, as I was pretty young and don't recall. Anyway, good luck with the parents, and welcome to |
