Default ktm250sxf jetting issues

i have a 2006 ktm 250sxf and i am having some major jetting problems. whenever i try to lug a taller gear my bike gets a serious case of the coughs before finally kicking in at high rpm. the additions i have are a dr.d pipe and a boyesen quickshot accelerator pump cover . also i am running a 175 main and the optional OBETN neddle and the clip is on tne 5th position from top. i cuyrrently ride from 2000 to 3000 feet evelation and there is almost no humidity(and anywhere from 90 to 110 degrees F).any info would be greatly appreciated . thanks

P.s. would one tooth bigger sprocket on the rear make the difference

This does not sound like a jetting issue, but I could be wrong. You need to ride these 250Fs like a 125 2-stroke. You should always be half way or full throttle. If you are lugging the motor there is no power. Try using you clutch more when it is lugging.

Try adding on tooth to the rear sprocket. It will help your low end, but loose some top end. I am a 200lbs guy and adding two teeth to the rear sprocket helped me, but I am always riding in the tight trails and on smaller MX tracks.

Hope that helps and welcome to ATM

thanks for your input but the problem ended up being the needle. I had the clip 5th from top, and i went to 4th from top and found a big improvement, then i decided to try one more up and know my 250f runs like a champion. also i re ajusted my accelerator pump to boyesen's recomended specs and that also helped some. as for the rear sprocket, one tooth larger helped close the gaps from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th.
