Last - RMZ250F (just because it doesn't have a new frame like the rest)

I was thinking of getting the KTM 250SXF but I now have second thoughts now that the 06 CRF250R dual exhaust is out. The CRF looks lean. Suposedly, it's more quiet which I love. I hate loud bikes. It kills our sport.

It's so hard. I love both bikes.
The KX250F looks amazing this year.. I think that bike may take the title from Honda..

My predictions..

Blue
Yellow
Orange

You're kidding about the Zook over the KTM, aren't you??? It's the same bike as last year. Have you even ridden the KTM yet, it's an amazing bike. Everyone who has ridden one thinks so. I've ridden one and I'm selling my CRF 450 to get one.

My predictions..

Orange
Blue
Green
Red
Yellow

Yeah I've ridden one as well and its absolutely blown me away. This thing is a weapon, it seriously felt like a detuned 450. I cant wait to get one.

Default i rode the 06 ktm250fsx

that bike is sweet. the motor is was stronger then any other stock 250f i have rode. I know back in the day ktms suspension suxed but that has gone away to. the suspension is just as good as a honda to me. I would def recommened this bike for any one looking to get an 06 250f. I would be one them if my sponsor would let me.

first off, i know this thread is old. however i thought it worthy of resurrecting, specifically because i have the opportunity to purchase a basically new 06 250sxf from my local dealer. these guys are legit, supporting amature mxers since the 70s, and i trust them. well, the mechanics anyway... salesmen... not so much. anyway, i am deployed but will return in October, with the 09 bikes either out or coming out, making this bike 3 years old and my current bike 6 years old. (03) it has sat in the showroom for as long as i can remember, at least for 6 months for sure. i have inspected it every time i visit the shop, the paint on the frame-rails, airbox, and associated plastics are all like new- this bike was hardly ridden. this raised red flags to me, because they have had it listed for 4999 for at least 6 months, possibly more and nobody has bought it yet... my question to y'all is WHY. is there a reason nobody wants an 06 KTM 250F? i know of the crank issues and recalls, as well as the oil screen "recall" of sorts. i will personally check engine and frame numbers against the recall list, and inspect the screen myself- that's not a problem. what i'm wondering is reliability reasons. all the reviews i have read, as well as the ones on the first page of this thread, is that this bike pulls like a 450, and turns like a 125, with decent suspension. i am far from picky in that respect, i can ride almost anything... sort of my downfall-slash-advantage. i think i can get away with 3500 or less, and i have a good trade-in but i probably won't, seeing as i spent over $2k in crank/frame-up rebuild of my RM and would be lucky to be offered 1500 for trade-in.

so, any ideas, long-term reviews, moans, groans, complaints or praise, i'm all ears.

please and thank you,

Rob

If I was you, Rob, DO IT!

You trust the fellas selling it. It was the most powerful in 06. You are a light/med fast guy so the suspension won't be all that bad like the testers say. Get it revalved if you aren't happy and race!
