Default Riding gear for a three year old, please help

I bought my son a 02 Suzuki JR 50 a few weeks ago and he is loving it. He rides everyday and he is really doing exceptionally well. He has been a freak about dirtbikes since he was born. He saw me ride about a month ago and that was it for him, he had to have one right now. I was going to wait until next year but I couldn't pass up a great deal from some great people. Needless to say I didn't really have the money but neither did my dad when I first started riding, and he made it happen, so I did the same. Since I bought him the bike I have preached about safety and he understands the message. My problem is he is getting fast and I can't afford gear for him. The people we bought the bike from gave us a helmet which helped a ton but he now needs a chest protector, he wrecked once and thank god he didn't get hurt. I want him to have the whole setup, pants, jeresy, boots, and gloves but that can all wait untill we get the money. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to ATM. It is a great place. Glad your son is enjoying the bike. As a parent there is nothing better than watching your kid(s) enjoy themselves.

At the risk of sounding rude, your first post here at ATM is asking for handouts?? :

I don't think three year olds should ride bikes, sorry bro. I can't help something I don't support. But may God be with you both.

I know this is my first post but I have been reading for a while now, I think this is really awesome what you have set up here. If I have upset or offended some members by my first posting I sincerely apologize and don't expect any other replies. I have no problem waiting untill I get the money. I have a few things I don't use anymore and will be posting them shortly. Thanks and once again I apologize.

Glad your getting your son into the sport! Im new to ATM as well, and understand that you like me read A TON before registering like me. No need to post so y register, but now that you had something to really talk about and post on, you get reemed out. Sorry i dont have anything for your son, but hopefully someone who understands that your just asking for the stuff there no longer in need of will come along and have some good stuff for your son.

Things i would get him first...
Soft neck brace (being so young it would be easy to snap his neck if he fell the wrong way)
rinding boots (no alpinestars or gaerne sg10's im talking walmart boots that will cover his ankle)
and a chest protector (might sound lame but i just thought that you could probably use a water life vest as a cheap thing to hold you over till you get money for a real one)

Have fun and be safe!!!

"Reemed out"? I don't think asking him a question is "reemed out". If he had mentioned in his first post that he had been visiting here for a while but never registered or posted I would have never asked him a thing. But, to make a first post asking for handouts without any preface of the above gives a bad perception of any true intent for joining the board.

The people who are a part of this message board are some of the greatest I have ever met. Most would give you the last pair of socks they own if you were on harder times than them.

So, having said that, please don't come on here and bang on the long time members of this board by saying things like getting "reemed out" for aasking a question. If you truly have been around here for any length of time you'll know I'll be the first to "reem out" anyone who posts foolish comments.

Slow him down a bit.Adjust the throttle cable so that it doesn't reach wide open.WalMart boots.Gloves may be a bit of a pain to find in his size. And there's always ebay.If you have to park the bike until some gear can be had.Teach the boy some patience which is never an easy lesson. He's young he'll forget soon as he can ride again.

Im not saying that you chewed him out i guess reemed out for me is a way of saying something not too nice to a new member, i just know where he is coming from and would give him the last pair of socks i own as well but my socks are like his sons size of tee shirts

no hard feelings yzernie!

Absolutely no hard feelings!! I simply wanted to make it clear that in someone's first post they do not indicate they have been surfing here at and then in that first post they are asking for handouts there is a perception of their true intent of joining the board. I'm probably from a different era than you and 'reemed out' means a royal a$$ chewing!!

And besides, free socks are good, regardless of the size!!

Im with E on this one. Lurking or not, you dont introduce yourself by asking for freebies. Let us get to know you and your son first, then let let US offer help. Trust me, it would happen. There isnt a better group of misfits to be found anywhere.
Having said all that, what are your kid's sizes? I have a ton of gear you can have.
