Check this thread. BigMaico goes trail riding!!!! There's some trash talkin' goin' on but you can sift your way through that and learn about the trail ride.

Splendora has cleared some trails too. Not very much, only about 10 miles worth, but for those who don't like track, at least they'll have something to ride. I know it sounded reasonable to ride the trails only, like $5. I'm thinking Anna & I are gonna have to take a trip over there.

I know Big Maico was out there today. Didn't sound like the track itself had changed much. Sounds like they've removed a bunch of trees...but that was just a phone report. Hopefully H will check in this evening and let us know what it was like.

WOW!!!! They destroyed it!!!! That was part of what made that track so cool was the wooded atmosphere.

One upside though, they may have done it to open up new track layout ideas...

I also read that DirtWurx is making a new track for Lonestar Motorsports Park.

No words can express how disapointed I am. Talk about sun-baked!
I hope this is one of those times when I come back later and say, "Man they did a great job on that track"! But I'm thinking it won't be.

I'm not disappointed at all. They are making it safer and it will better to watch(I like to watch)

As you may have heard, lots of trees, mostly dead ones, were recently removed from the track area and parking lot. This was done around the track for safety reasons and in the park to make room for RV sites and more improvements. While we hated to see so many go, it is AMAZING how much bigger the track looks!!! It really looks great! Plus, it will allow much better spectator views and photo ops. We're still working on cleaning up, and as equipment arrives and weather permits, planned rennovations will continue. Please be patient, and know that the new owner and management at Splendora Motocross Park are working to build an awesome recreational destiny for dirt-slinging family fun _ one to be enjoyed by all for years to come!

Mostly dead ones? I'll flatly disagree with that. However, I'm not in charge and I'll just deal with the changes they have decided to make. Nothing stays the same forever. I just hope they make room for us the first weekend of October from here on out.
