Default Wyatt Barto #522 - "Rest in Eternal Peace"

Sadly, I added the name of another 10 year old boy, Wyatt Barto #522 to the "Remembering Those Who Rode" Memorial List. He died on Sunday, February 3, 2008 from injuries he received while riding on Saturday. I became aware of this through RiderDown and some friends of the Barto family.

Wyatt's dads name is John and as you would expect he is having a real rough time. John's wife is Shelly and she too is suffering. I have briefly spoken with John and he will call me back. He was making funeral arrangements when I called him and he answered his phone.

Please keep the Barto Family in your prayers and thoughts. Thank you.

I will post more as I find out more information.

Sincerely,

Mike Berg

Wyatt M. Barto Fredericksburg, PA

Wyatt M. Barto, 10, of 251 Airport Road, Fredericksburg, died Monday, February 4, 2008, in Children's Hospital at the University of North Carolina Medical Center, Chapel, Hill, N.C., following injuries sustained in a motocross accident while practicing in Henderson, N.C. Wyatt was born in Lebanon on May 29, 1997, and was the son of John L. Barto Jr. of Fredericksburg and Corie M. Noel of Jonestown. He was a fifth grade student at Fredericksburg Elementary School, where he participated in the school chorus, played on the Northern Lebanon Viking Pony Football Team, and was a wrestler with the Viking Matt Club. During release time from school, he attended Mt. Zion Road Church of the Brethren. His passion for motocross racing began at age four. At age seven, he was sponsored by MCW (Miller's Cycle Works, Leola) and Conti USA, Italy, to race nationally. Wyatt was the first individual in the United States to be sponsored by Conti USA in motocross racing, of which he was very proud. By the time he was eight, he was rated 32nd in National Motocross Racing and won the District Six Championship three times.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Evan L. Barto and Shayden O. Barto, both at home; two sisters, Kylynn M. Klopp and Madison G. Klopp, both of Jonestown; a stepbrother, Damian M. Klopp of Jonestown; a stepmother, Shelli L. Barto of Fredericksburg; and a stepfather, Michael J. Klopp of Jonestown; maternal grandparents Jerome Noel Sr. of Hanover and Shawn Gilbert of Jonestown; paternal grandparents John Sr. and Linda Barto of Annville and Brenda Barto of Lebanon; and paternal great-grandmother Mildred Flocken of Annville.
