Please bare with me here as I have never posted a thread. And never thought that if I did, I would be writing about this.... Matt Thompson, who was a good friend of mine for the past 13 years. Was practicing at Red Bud yesterday (labor day) when he lost control of his dirt bike and the inevitable happened. Tonight at 7:42 pm (his racing number) we will be taking him off of life support from a break in the neck, a collapse of his airways, complete and total brain damage and more. Please keep Matt and his family in your thoughts and prayers especially over the next few hours. He has a 4 year old son Ryley who he was proud to watch practice at Red Bud for his first time ever yesterday! Last edited by Woody_393; 09-04-2008 at 12:35 AM. Reason: Fixed name

I am not even sure what to say here, other then this has really hit close to home for ALL of us. I didn't know Matt but I can tell you he was a excellent rider and a proud father. ATM, I ask that all of you please keep his family in your prayers and thoughts, I can't really explain the feelings that this has generated throughout my core group that was there yesterday, I have been getting calls, texts, e-mails....you name it all day long....all we can do is offer our thoughts and prayers to the family at this time. God Speed Matt

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and Prayers. Matt passed last night at 7:42 pm, peacefully. I am adding a picture to this of Matt and Ryley that I had taken this year at SuperCross in Indy. Last edited by Woody_393; 09-04-2008 at 12:36 AM. Reason: fixed name

Tragic, how does one explain to a four year old his Dad isn't coming home anymore. May he rest in Peace. Very sad.
