Thanks everyone for your thoughts and Prayers. Matt passed last night at 7:42 pm, peacefully.

I am adding a picture to this of Matt and Ryley that I had taken this year at SuperCross in Indy.

Tragic, how does one explain to a four year old his Dad isn't coming home anymore. May he rest in Peace. Very sad.

Life deals us some tragic blows. No one knows that better than Mr. Berg. These are awkward moments but I'll say a prayer for you, Ryley and all of his family and friends. You do have to find solace knowing that he was enjoying his passion for dirt bikes when he passed. Remember the good times as they can never be taken from you. Godspeed.

I too hate to read these threads. I am sooo sorry to hear about the loss of Matt. I'm even more sorry that he left a little one behind...

I will pray hard for those he left behind, for I know their hearts are aching due to his departure. I'm sorry for your Loss too Kim.

Godspeed Matt!!

Wow, where do you start?

I hate hearing about things like this. I was at Redbud on Labor Day and listened to the ambulance leave carrying a rider, but never heard his name. I can't even imagine my 4 year old girl not having a daddy anymore. Even though I didn't actually "know" Matt, this hits home with me, because I knew his "#742" all too well. He and I lined up on the same gate at many of the Read's tracks in the late 90's in "Heavy Weight C".

I wish his family well.
Godspeed Matt...

My families' prayers are with his family,
Tom Roose #57

I have resisted posting in this thread because it is so tragic. This type of thread really hurts. If I may be of some assistance to Matt's Family -please let me know.

I have taken the Liberty to add Matt Thompson to the "List" that "Remembers Those Who Rode." I hope that somehow Matt's Family can find comfort in the darkest days that inevitably follow a tragedy like this.

If I may suggest, "Rather than mourn the absence of Matt's flame, focus rather on how brightly it shined." Matt Thompson will live FOREVER in the HEARTS of those who Love him!

In sympathy and sincerity,

Mike Berg
"Motodad393"

May Matt Thompson Rest in Eternal Peace!
