You can just bring them into our banks around here and they will use thier coin machines to sort/count them.......

They won't do that around here anymore. There was a story about one old man that had a trash can full of pennies and couldn't do anything with them because no one would take them. Sometimes if I have a lot of coin to roll, it necessitates a trip to Vegas.

Roll as you go...bring them unrolled, however it works out. I don't mind rolling it either...that's what I have kids for.

That is how I taught JJ to count to 100 when he was little. The nickels and dimes when he was a little older.

John and are in, I have been saving change for years in a cup, it is now the RiderDown.org fund. I'll contact our shop and see if I can put a jug there with a sign on it. They are really cool people and should okay it. I have been buying RM's there since 1976 so we know each other. This is a great idea Macho, thanks for the prod.

I'm in too. However, I won't be sending my pennies. They banks here will count them for you, and give you cash, so long as you don't have "trash can's" full.

For those of you feeling generous, you could always add nickles & Dimes too. You will be amazed at the amount of $$ you can come up with.

Now all I need is a lock for my jar. Seems the boss and her little helpers are always digging into my jar, which is why I didn't add Quarters (I never have any... I put them in there, but some how they turn into nickles, dimes and pennies within seconds ).

Setting something at the local shop is a great idea too. I'll certainly hit my shop up too.

We plan on rolling whatever we can collect at home and at Cycle world, Pensacola and bringing cash or a check. I want to do this right from my end and help out. this is a super idea.

I will check and see if the bank will count them for me as the time gets closer. If not, like I said..the kids can have a math lesson.

Remember this fact, In Alabama the elementary school students did a penny drive to get the funding for moving and permenantly locating the U.S.S. Alabama to Mobile as a memorial and museum in the early 1960's No state government funds had to be used to accomplish this feat. I imagine a group like ATM can do pretty well with this drive for RiderDown.org.
