* Sorry if someone already started this thread somewhere else * As usual the GMB Remember Those Who Rode Memorial Race weekend was AWESOME! Friday, Dinner at the Berg's Unfortunately Imahoot and I did not get into town in time for dinner and bench racing at the Berg's, but I heard it was a blast. I also heard the food (courtesy of Lupe's) was great. Hopefully someone has some photos to share. Saturday, Practice Pulling into San Jacinto Cycle Park is still such an awesome experience. The usual crowd was there for practice (Satch, Jedi, Macho, Prag, Psyk, FG, Valverde and MANY others). Everyone was having a blast until unfortunately Macho took a spill over a double and Satch landed on him, showing off his Alessi-style moves Here is a pic of Machoman in the hospital hallway: Later that night Howard treated us to the usual awesome dinner of beer butt chicken and fried turkey. MMMMMM....delicious. We also were treated to an evening-long mechanic' show as Jedi and Daniel (Mr. Char) got Jedi's CRF back into working order. It was too funny to see about a dozen guys standing around watching those to work on the bike. We all had an opinion on what was wrong Sunday, Race Day Boy, what can you say. The entire day still leaves you with as John Lorenz said, your spine tingling. It is such an amazing experience. The highlight of my day on Sunday was standing on top of the triple step-up with Mr. Berg, where he volunteered to flag the second set of motos. We talked for a while as I shot video of the second ATM Moto and had a good time. It was so cool to see riders go by and give Mike the thumb's up, wave their hand, nod their head, solute, etc. It was SO COOL There is alot more to say, but I am sure others will jump in here. I will post photos soon. A HUGE thanks to Big M and Vintage D for another awesome race

I had a great time, and it was awesome to finally meet everyone. I am super glad I rode the ATM ride. It was cool just riding with the whole crew (And yes, many of us pulled over to rest Today, I had try pretty hard to get out of bed. My body hurts, including my fingers. Talk about out of shape. Next year I want to be there for the whole weekend. That is how great this is. If you haven't been, plan for next year Last edited by ProAMA725; 10-03-2005 at 09:45 AM.

I don't know enough words to describe the weekend. It was moving. I felt pride, humility, elation, anger, happiness, sorrow, and I was physically drained when Sunday arrived. Lack of sleep and racing 3 classes took its toll. But you know what? I'd do it all again. I will post more before the day is over. It's time to head back to Oklahoma and get back to business as usual. I'm gone for a few hours. |

Just a quick update - I will let Mark/Satch tell the story. We got home OK last night and I believe Mark will be fine - just needs a couple of days, but that is another story too. I think he hurt pretty bad most of the way but you know him, would not DARE say it hurts, so I am guessing here. Thank you all for being so good to us - much appreciated. I was truly scared out of my wits - thanks to Josh (see I remembered the name) I would never have got through that hospital thing without him, he was great....the young lady with the chair on Sunday - thank you, thank you. Satch, you are still "pretty special" and I am still your biggest fan. I finally got to see you jump for real. I really had a good time in spite of Mark getting hurt...and I hope to see you all again. Love to all - take care. Macho's Mom.

As Josh said, we all had a great time with no major injuries....although , Macho's injury, with all the bruising and swelling, looked as if his kidney would pop out and say, Hi Too many new names to mention and was happy to ride with everyone. Too much emotion for words alone.
