Default GMB IV a laid back view

Well this year I planned on riding a lot with a lot of different folks. My mom was coming and she was pretty pumped up. We leave the house on Friday morning and stop by the track so she can see the track. She told me that this track was bigger than the tracks she use to go and score when doing the nationals. Yes mom was a ……pit gurl and ran with Bad Brad,Sonny Defeeo, Tony Winn. Mom was impressed with how wide and big it was. We left there and stopped by the motel room to clean up some. We left there and went to Mike Berg’s house. It took less than the walk up the drive way for her to feel at home. She really liked all the people she met. She told me , Mark you know how you go somewhere and there is that one person you really don’t like”. I said yea. She then said she couldn’t find that person, lol. Mom loves you all! She really got a kick out of Mike Berg. So she met all my buds and I pointed her out to my buds. She kept asking me ….is he Satch. I kept telling her no . Saturday we was the 1st ones at the track. We unloaded and got setup. The tracked looked perfect.I went and said a prayer over by Garrets tree and was the 1st one on the track…..yeeeeee haaaa. It took me about 5 trys to get the double part down on the triple. I planned on working on just parts of the track to get it down.
As the day wore on I seen Satch and the crew sitting under a tree by the rythem section. DPW and I where riding together so I didn’t stop. I was just playing only wanting to improve on certain spots. My plans where to work on the double –double b4 the table top. All I remember was going off the second double and thinking…..oops this is going to hurt. As I started to hit I was thinking this don’t hurt. Then bam pow boom! I’m thinking my bike is flipping on top of me. As I try to get up Satch runs up and says,”I’m sorry man. I’m thinking why? He then saids I couldn’t do nothing,I didn’t mean to hit you. ROTFGTYF, if he wouldn’t have told me that I would have never knew. I knew my weekend of riding was over. Its all apart of riding. Its not if you get hurt……….its when. So everybody is telling me to go to the hospital. But they wouldn’t let me shut the truck door. Boyd grabs my hand and John Loranz hand and says a prayer. Thanks bro!So Zoot ,mom and me are off to find the hospital. We get there and I can’t get out and walk. Zoot gets me a wheel chair and gets me inside. I still can’t straighten out. I can’t pick up my right leg. We go in do the paper work and they take me to the back.I’m still in my riding gear and Zoot has to help me get undress. We get everything off and Zoot slaps me on the arsh and says you go BOY!......j/kThank you Zoot for being there.Im pretty much in pain the hole time. We go for xrays and I think the cold table helps to straighten me out. I feel good now. Everything checks out good just a major bruise and a groin pull. Zoot and I played with mom some. I winked at Zoot and told him I wasn’t going to be able to race 3 classes………Mom almost lost it.Zoot and I laugh some.
Sunday came and I was hurting abit. I need to stretch out to be able to stay. TSQUARED WIFE IS DA-BOMB!!!!She saved it for me.I will never be able to thank her enough. I was able to watch my brothers and sisters ride. Everybody throughout the day came over to check on me….Thanks guys and gals. Brent, I could see you looking over and checking on me everynow and then…….Don’t worry about it bro…its dirtbiking. I know your heart bro…..your awesome guy. I also notice after the riders meeting you went and hugged your wife and kids and told them you loved them. Thats what this event is about. Good thing I had my sun glasses on. I went to the tracks sidelines to watch the lap of honor. I would have crawled if had too. It was good to see the Prestons again this year. That lap just brings the tears. After that I felt Boyd and Jedi walking beside me to insure I didn’t fall. Thanks guys. Jedi told me , mom made him, lol. I got tickled as the day went by when he told her we all will just call you mom. Dude that made her day! Mom sat beside me all day and took care of me. Thanks mom, you ain’t lost your touch. I walked to the fence to watch my bros race the GMB class. I must tell the truth I shed some tears cause I knew the joy.love, pain and brotherhood you guys was feeling. To my buddy EGO ALLEN POE, thank you for running my front plate. You touched my heart friend. As the rest of the day went by I was thankful to be apart of such a fine group of people. Mom and I stayed until after the second GMB class then we left. We hugg people and said good byes. The last person I saw before I left was Charburger. She touched my shoulder and our eyes met. We both knew what was not said. I missed a chance of telling a person I care about I loved them. Well I won’t again let that happen. Even though we both knew, we was to choked up to say it. Hey Charburger…..Love ya gurl. Take care of yourself and keep on loving your family. Your one of a kind.
This turned out to be a great weekend. Mom and I got to spend a lot of time together and share new memories. Thanks mom for coming. I shall see you folks next year!

Macho...you are the man. Tough as nails and a heart of gold. It was a rough weekend at times but it also made me realize how awesome this group is......like Psyklone said...it's like a family reunion...but better.

Macho.....we will ride again soon......just maybe not on the track at the same time!

That's a good read, machoman. I was truly pleased to meet you and Mom. You have the heart of a true dirtbiker. You were in pain but I never heard a single complaint. You are right, it is just part of our sport. Thanks for sticking with us on Sunday. Your presence was soothing.
The older I get, the faster time flies. I will see you again soon. It may be at GMB V but it's not that far away. Less than 12 months!
It was good to shake your hand.

Macho,
GREAT write up. I did miss riding with you. I don't get to ride with short people very much and I was looking forward to that. [jk] Hey your Mom was AWESOME. You already know that you are lucky. I hope you are feeling better and the bruising is going away. That was one heck of a bruise.

You take care Macho and tell your wife thanks for letting you come to Texas again without her.

Mike

Great writeup, I know what you mean about saying goodbye to Char. I was saying my goodbyes and made it very brief with Char, Clayton looked at me like "thats it" I just looked at him and said "lets go now". If I had stayed any longer I would have been bawling. Saying goodbye to Tina was just as hard especially since she and Suzette were already teary eyed when I walked up. It wasnt goodbye, it was......... I'm tired, see you soon

Dude, they put you on the "cold" table? Man, you were in the morgue. They must have thought you were bad off and didn't want to move you later.

I heard you have a voice that's a cross between Barry White and Boy George when you get the Demerol flowing. Too bad we didn't record it. With today's pop music anything short of screeching (Ashlee Simpson) is a hit.

Bro, I am sorry that it happened to you. Kinda took the edge off the weekend for me. I was looking forward to creating trouble with you. I guess it will have to wait for the "planning meeting". I will have some time to think up some stuff to do to Keeto by then. That's what the "planning" is about anyway, since we never talk about the race.

Take some more Advil, hug the wife and kids, get well soon.
