YZ450F sucks?

Why does everyone always downplay the YZF? If I couldn't get a KTM (which will be hard) then I'll want a YZ450F. What do you guys think about it? I rode a YZ426F that was really fun so I don't see why the 450F would be much different. WTF is up with people hating the 450F?

I dont see any 450 hating either.. some people say it has a bit more hit than a 4 stroke should, but other than that, it is supposed to be a great bike.

I have heard a lot of people talk bad about the 450 also. I have friends with the 450 and the 426 and I really like both. I don't see what they are talking about either?!?

I've just heard some bashing on ronronmx.com and my brother said he didn't like the YZ450F, but I can't remember why. I heard things like "Thank goodness the deal for the YZ450F fell through and I could get a CRF".

So how do you all like your YZ450F's? If I can't get a KTM like I want to I'll shoot for the 450F (I don't want a CRF450. Everyone has those).

you may be reading it the wrong way. both the 450's are awesome bikes. the crf and yzf are equally fast. the thing that makes a rider like one more than the other is rider preferance. I love my crf. it's the best bike i have ever ridden, bar none. I love the handling and power delivery. other people like the yzf better. it has a little more of a hit to it. and handles differently. both have had thier little problems. neither is any "Better" than the other.
the statement you quoted to me sounds like that guy just prefers the crf and is glad he got it.

i have heard that the yzf's hit can be a handful for less experienced riders, and can quickly tire you out.

I love my 450, I really don't understand what people are talking about with the "Hit" either, it has power everywhere, there is no uncontrollable hit that breaks the rear tire loose, just eye watering acceleration, at anytime, anywhere.

It is by far and away the best bike I have EVER had the pleasure of owning, it fits me and my riding style to a T.

The problem with the internet is you have some 5 year old posting that a bike sucks even though they have never ridden one, or maybe even sat on one for that matter. When I see things like that I usually just laugh. I know my bike is awesome, they all are for that matter.

The YZ is an awesome bike, as is the CR and the Katoom. Its all what you like and want to ride, not what someone else says. The most consistant complaints I've heard about the YZ are the light flywheel and the four speed takes time to adjust to. But I've also heard people rave about the snap and wide power that results from those things. Some people like to ride, others like to complain. Its that simple.

Tell me about it. Just had to get orange accessories for the new bike and I think that all cost me more than I've ever spent on the actual bikes I've had. Geez! Next time I'm getting all black or white. It goes with any bike!

When I rode the 450F I didn't think it was that much different than the CRF to be honest. I'm not sure what the "Hit" is either and I couldn't tell much difference in the gearing, however I didn't ride the YZF in the RPM's much, but I did a little.

I'm with yardpro (and most of you), pick a color, Blue/Red/Orange and ride. They are all really excellent bikes.

I find that most of this type of talk comes from the younger guys. We have a nice little TTR125 following here, and you should hear them talk about their bike. And you should hear them talk about the competition.........

Anyone who has their head removed from their rear end knows that both bikes are absolutely AWESOME... Now take a 98 400F and then ride it back to back with a CRF or a YZ450F and you will think man I hate my 400... If you take all 3 450's and ride them back to back to back, you will end up picking based on color and which one had the ergo's that fit you.

Well I tend to agree with most of you, The new bike are so good that it's hard to pick which is the best! It all comes down to rider preferance. For me I didn't like the power of the Honda & the yamaha felt funny. I sat on a KTM & felt at home. But I got the big 525 sx as the 450 wasen't out last year when I got mine. I like the feel of the KTM & the massive mid range. I can ride most of the track's in just one gear, It has power everywhere & dosen't need a flywheel weight to tame the power. I can't comment on the KTM 450 as I haven't ridden one yet.
