Default Yamaha 250F Full Throttle Start

Sometimes my daughters (Yam250fgirl) 250F is hard to start when hot. I have read in the manual that NEVER give it any throttle while starting it. Well today at Splendora it would not start and after going through the "drill" I said the hell with it and gave it all the gas and it started right up. This something you do when the machine is flooded. Well it worked for me and just was wondering if this is some secret that maybe nobody has told me or something? Thanks a lot. By the way my daughter and I sat down today and watched "On any Sunday" She was amazed at what kind of "bikes" I had to grow up with. Bulls, Huskies, Honda Elsinors etc... A whole lot less equipment, a whole lot less of everything, but I wouldn't trade those days for nothing. "Men of steel sailed wooden boats"

Zebra I have found since getting my jetting closer my bike starts a lot easier when hot. It doesn't even like the hot start being used. Of course when it comes to starting for a race that is a different story. Does her bike have a decomp lever?

well full throttle when you flood it can be used to clear the motor, so yes it works.

I have an 04 250f

if the bike is hot, i just pull in the clutch and kick it.. usually if i give it a good kick it will start right up. If the bike stalls (crash) and will not start after 2-3 kicks, I will put the bike in neutral and pull the hot start. If it takes more than 5 or so GOOD kicks, and still does not start, I like to open the throttle wide, hold it there, kick the bike 5 times or so, close the throttle, pull the hotstart, and kick.

I have only had to use the full throttle method once... after a crash. Usually I have no problems.
