Question wr 426

Hello everybody.
I read about replace cam in forum and i want to do it.
I have wr 426 and must buy ex. cam of 2003 wr or later model to change the stock cam with cam from wr 450 . Trere is any problem with this change;

That is correct. Purchase a 2003-05 WR450 ex cam. You will also want to buy [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]to remove your decompression cable. The oem rubber plugs form Yamaha have been known to fall out. PM me your email address and I can send you a pdf of the installation process.

Here is a site that will describe all of the free mods for the WR. It is written for the WR250F, but most of it will apply to the WR426 as well.

Also, make sure you find out what size pads you have in there now before this mod. Whatever they are, order the hotcams refill kit that covers 5-15mm larger than them with your cam order. I got my plug, cam and shim kit with 30 shims (5 ea size) for $150 thru yamahasportsplaza.com.

You will love the starting ease and performance with the 450DCM done. I have never regretted doing it to my 2002 YZ 426. Be sure you check the valve shim lash as said.
