Default Valve Adjustment - lost timing

I believe I already know how to fix it. However looking to see if someone has a different idea then me.

YZ450F. I just completed a Valve Adjustment all the valves gaps with new shims. Put everything back together and set the timing. Before I checked the gaps I wanted to move the crack to make sure it was keeping time.

As soon as a do, it skips and goes out of time. Here is the video

You need to install the tensioner before trying to turn the motor over.

You'll have to have the chain tensioner in so it takes up the slack. The valve springs are strong so if your moving the crank the cams will have to compress the springs. My trick when I'm adjusting valves is to get it TDC and zip tie the cam gear and the cam chain together thru those holes. Take out the cam chain tensioner and then adjust them individually. This usually doesn't allow the cam chain to come off the gear on the crank and it keeps the cam gears timed. I always double check the timing is correct after cam caps are tightened and remove zip ties. I like to reinstall the cam chain tensioner at this time too. Then I'll slowly crank it over to make sure it's good to go.
