Default TTR50 no spark, bad pickup coil?

Trying to diagnose an intermittent no spark on my son's bike. When I try and test the pickup coil and instructed in the manual, I get no resistance reading at all on my multimeter. I'm assuming that's a bad sign and the likely cause for the lack of spark? Can the pickup coil be replaced separately or will I need a complete new stator?

Coil tests out fine, battery is charged, new plug, trimmed the coil wire, tried a spare coil, tried a spare reg/rec and still no spark which is what led me to the pickup coil.

These pick up coils don't go bad very often. The issue is that that coil is not available as a separate part and thus a new stator would be needed if in fact it is bad.
It is just triggered by the magnet of the flywheel. Have you tried to see if it will trigger when exposed to the magnet?

If it will trigger, then the OHMs reading does not tell the story of the condition of the part unless it has a dead short and then it would not trigger.
Also make sure the flywheel and magnet are 100% clean and free of rust and dirt.
( Remember all the trigger coil does is act like "points" in an old time system.)
