| So i have about had it with this bike..09yz250f my question to you guys is...at idle in neutral, can you rip the throttle hard and it revs....mine dies. I have called yamaha, they cant do nothing, the shop i took it to said its fine and the valves are fine, i dont even think they looked at the carb, but i know something is wrong. You have to very slowly roll into it to get it to rev up. also its a pain in the *** to start.. with the choke out it starts, once you push it back in the bike cant keep an idle and dies, then it wont start and i have to pop start it to get it going again. Every shop says its operator error and i cant beleive yamaha is doing nothing for me and i cant stand this anymore. Im almost to the point of losing my cool. If there is anyone one these forums in south jersey that could take a look at this bike, i would really appreciate it. i'll pay u for your time cuz im done with these B\S shops...No shop seems to be honest anymore. | Okay, let's start with the idle adjustment. There is a big black round knob on the side of the carby, start the bike and wind it in clockwise, you should hear the rev's increase as you do it. Get it to a point where it idles a bit fast but not overdone. Report back when you have got it, or not. |

| Definately check your idle, mine does the same thing. Didn't fix the bog but starts first kick every time. |

| Yep, it was the idle...Bumped it up a little bit more, no more bog, throttle response is much better.. Thanks again.. |

| Also - look into your leak jet. This meters the accelerator pump discharge and for a 4-stroke, it has a huge impact on engine acceleration. The leak jet is inside the carb. If you are lucky, you have a local shop that can make a good suggestion on the right size jet for your area - if not, call around. The leak jet has a tremendous impact. Look into it. Scott |
