flasher Ride report 05 YZF

Ok after riding around for a tank at under half throttle I decided to open it up and see what the 450 really had!
The bike has gobfulls of power everywhere, lack of power is not an issue, It seems to feel hard at first, lower speeds make the suspension feel just harshish, At speed it tracks very straight, thru Km,s of whoops it just seems to swallow them up. Overthrottled abit through one section but just kept it pinged and straightened it up! The front rises to the occasion whenever required, when it jumps the bike feels light in the air, way lighter then a 426, it also is easy to start, no problems there,in deep sand it tracks true, you can change your line without any dramas. the bike turns very well, it just seems to hold a line good, to me it feels maybe a tad light on the front end but I havent adjusted the suspenders yet. I think I am just used to my steering dampner on my old bike. The suspension feels very good from the start. I can't fault the bike yet, It really is way too much of a bike for me, I think it will take me a few months to catch up with it. It is hard to ride over time as it will just wear you out. I need to get fitter too! Good Excuse!
Over all very impressive! I believe worth every cent!
This bike rocks!

That is great to hear man! The suspension will soften up a little as you break it in but you have to remember, it was built for speed and track conditions. Best of luck with it!

Keeto is true....the suspension will soften as it breaks in. The Twin Chamber KYB forks are better than previous years when it comes to bottoming resistance but are a little harsh on the choppy stuff. Once you get the bike broken in a fork revalve is WELL worth the money.

Congratulations on the new steed! I will admit...after watching DPW blast his 05 YZ450F throught the whoops at Nocona it makes me want one......but then again we know it's 95% rider...

DPW on his 05. If you have any questions about the bike...DPW is the man.
