Need more Power out of BW200

Got an 85 yamaha BW 200 that I need more power out of. Ive already had the head off and the cylinder is perfect so I dont want to bore it out. But it seems like the bike is burning fuel to rich. The cylinder was loaded with carbon and the spark plug was black. Is there any way I can get a regluar burn out of it, plus get more power?
