Default Need help with linkage and steering stem

I figure my bike needs the linkage and the steering stem greased and lubed pretty bad. Can anyone tell me how hard it is to do and kind of give me a little step by step process on how to do it? Thanks for all the help!

It's easy. Take the front wheel off, forks out of the triple clamps, handlebars if needed--to reach the stem nut, pull the top triple clamp off, then loosen the spanner nut. If it's tight you'll need to get a punch and a hammer to loosen it. After you get the spanner nut off, the bottom triple clamp and stem will want to fall out, so hold it and then pull it out. Then clean your bearings if they need it and apply a pretty good sized amount of grease on them and stick them back in the tube.

For linkage, you're going to want a manual.. Because it involves taking the whole subframe off, the shock, swingarm, etc..

Grease those steering stem bearings with TONS of greese!

Oh...sorry...I didn't see you also said linkage bearings. While you are in there go ahead and pull the swingarm off and grease those...that way you know that all of your bearings are good to go. You shouldn't really need a manual if you are mechanically capable.
