Hi! I have an wr250f '06 and I want to replace my muffler with fmf powercore 4. Do you think guys that this is a good choice? Do you have better recommendation? I don't want to replace my headers anymore. Thanks!

Why do you think changing the muffler will keep you from having to change headers, and why do you think your current setup (stock?) is causing you to need to change headers? FMF is certainly not a bad choice, there are a lot of options out there though so look around and see if there is anything else that you might like more (and may be cheaper as well).

You have a WR and for that I am going to guess that you are a trail rider. You will need to get a exhaust that will US Forest certified for both sound, below 96 db and have a spark arrestor. If you insist on buying an exhaust, a good option is an FMF Q It will wake the bike up a bit and still be on the quiet side. There are other exhaust that will meet that criteria, but the FMF Q is the one I have personal owned. You best option is to get a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. It will get close to the FMF Qs performance for a fraction of the cost.

I don't think I am the best to answer you question do to the fact that I have never purchased a high performance exhaust. I have always look for the quiet version. After looking, there are not many after market exhaust for $300.00 FMF Powercore is the only one that I found. I would look for a used YZF pipe. You will have good power gains with out the high cost. Just wondering if you have done the free mods already? Here is a great place to start. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Remember that you will need to rejet with a new exhaust.
