Well I got my new bike today =]. Its a 2006 yz250f. It is EXTREMELY clean. The guy we bought it from took extremely good care of it. TONS of mid. Bottom and top....not so great. A couple of mods could help that i guess. Dont get me wrong, this bike is FAST, just wish i had a little more bottom and top. I am really excited. I really think this bike will be much more mangable on the track for me. I will have pics tomorrow. Expect a ride report soon.. ' ps, ive read in tons of reviews that the front end "pushes" in certain corners. Can anyone else comfirm this? Last edited by Shoei_391; 12-24-2007 at 03:37 PM.

You are going to have a hard time getting both more top and bottom end power. Tossing in a fresh 13.5:1 piston along with a cam and some good porting will turn that bike into a fire breather. Just the piston and cam alone will help substantially and are things that you can do yourself. I recommend JE or CP pistons and either a Ron hamp cam or a Crower cam.

Thanks Baron! I am not sure if I would go with a high compression piston, though. I heard they can make your bike a lot less reliable? Not sure though The cam sounds awesome though! Perhaps I will think the power is enough when I take it on the mx track. I only got to take it up the street.

![]() Super clean. one thing is kind of bugging me though. the plastic is in like new condition, except the front fender, which is very scratched up, like it got the crap beat out of it. the air boot is scuffed up to. I guess I am just hoping this guess didnt beat the crap out of this bike then just threw on fresh plastics I doubt it though, this guy really knew his stuff, whatever question i asked, he answered. Sorry for the crappy pic, more to come Last edited by DRGSin393; 12-25-2007 at 10:44 PM. |

I am with DPW, you decide if it pushes. FYI anything that increases power will be increasing cylinder pressure at some rpm, unless you reduced friction to get the increase, whether it be a cam or a higher compression piston. I see people swap cams when they haven't a clue as to how close to factory specs the stock one is working at. Get used to this one and make sure it is working like the factory intended it to work before you spend your money. As always, if speed is what you are after, spend your money on YOU first.
