Since my bike is pretty much stock im cant tell you I have tried all of these things but from what I hear these are best to do. First make sure your jetting is about right for your location climate ect. Than gear your bike for what you ride wich in most cases calls for a 49-50 tooth sprocket. If youve done all this you can start looking at after market exhaust sytems. Dr D and PC T-4 is most peoples first choice. Re-valving your suspension will make you ride faster and safer. If you have to bog or flat spot the Vortex CDI will clear it up. Tell me what you ride and what you really want from your bike so me and other can make other recomendations.

You'll have a better acceleration response with a P-38, if you sort out the low end circuit jetting. And as mentioned before, save the power money for a set-up on your suspension. Scrap the chain too. Without that,(suspension) Power is worthless. And the Vortex will not clear up the bog. I run the stock 48 sprocket,, even indoors,,and it does just fine. I can't ride that fast, so you'd think that I would need a 49 or 50,,but nope. Just my 5 cents, cause our local taxes are being raised

I agree with bearing here, suspension mods are by far the best thing you can do. If you are in the weight quotas for your springs (probably 150-170lbs) then a revalve will be relatively cheap and should suit your needs. Also, stock, that bike will beat most mildly modified 125's, (I know yamaha250f's 250F can whip my CR125, which has an SST pipe, Shorty silencer, and FMF reeds). When you get a new bike, these are the things you should work on. 1. Increase the durability. A quality chain and strong aluminum bars top the list. 2. Work on the handling and ergos of the bike. A suspension revalve, tall seat foam, whatever you need to get the bike to fit you well. 3. Motor work. Most bikes have stock exhaust systems that are aquedate. A V-force (for a 2 stroke) and or porting are the best bang for the buck.

Agree'd, I know local A riders that ride completly stock 250F's and are content. Suspension mods are almost a must if you are planning on racing competitively. It is unbelivable how much it can help to have your boingers dialed in properly. If you have any questions reguarding set up, be sure to check out our suspension forums!! Good luck!
