![]() Hi, new to forum. I thought I would save myself some money and do a top end in my 450 myself instead of having a shop do it. Every thing went together smoothly (or at least i thought it did) I have it all put back together now, the bike starts just fine and all the power seems to be there. When i am coming into a corner in 2nd or 3rd gear and the rpms drop the bike stalls. This shouldnt happen because i have a rekluse clutch and this never happened to me before i did the top end. the bike will also stall sometimes when it is at running temperature and i blip the throttle while in neutral. I have rechecked my timing and it is seems to be good. I read in the manual (after of course) that you are not supposed to remove the throttle position sensor because it can affect engine performance. Well i did to get the throttle body and intake out of my way. Can that be my problem? and how do i know i have put it back in the right position? Any input would be much appreciated. |

![]() The manual should contain OHMs or Voltage readings for the TPS setting at idle. In most cases you will need to richen the TPS setting to get it correct. The richening comes from increasing the voltage reading at the TPS by as little as 1/2 volt and that is done by turning the TPS in the housing. But like I said, this should be covered in the service manual. Paw Paw |

![]() You will need to turn the idle up a tad while you re breaking the bike in. Tighter tolerances, new parts and such require a slightly higher idle. During the break in period the idle will start to raise, adjust accordingly and eventually you will be back where you started and it wont stall! |

![]() Invest in a GYTR tuner. You will be able to go into monitor mode and look at all the sensors as well as setting the idle at 2100 rpm. I found it a big help to slightly advance the timing at the low rpm 0-4000 box and make the fuel richer in the same box. The GYTR tuner will net you more power than an aftermarket exhaust and at a fraction of the price. I also read that the 2011 muffler has a larger opening than the 2012 and up so if this is true maybe you could get a deal on a 2011 silencer that someone has removed. Also make sure the air intake temp sensor is plugged in. If you have removed the airbox for any reason it's easy to not get it plugged back in all the way and this will cause stalling. |

![]() Until you get the TPS set correctly you will have issues. Paw Paw |
