Default 2002 YZ250F idle and pipe red hot

I have a 2002 YZ250F that I haven't really riden in about 2 years due to shoulder surgery. It has been started and ran, but recently I have had a hard time with it. The bike always started ok, but I recently ran into trouble when the bike would idle high with and without the choke on and then when i hit the throttle it would die out or never come down from high rpms. I took off the carb, cleaned it and now I can hit the throttle and get a response out of the bike. I changed the gas and put fresh gas in today and when i got it running with the choke on it was fine. I was able to adjust it because it was idling way too high, but it came down to good rpms with the choke on. then I shut the choke off and it was having a hard time idling and then i noticed the pipe was getting red hot. I haven't noticed this before. When i was riding more often it ran great. Any suggestions?? Please

I also have the problem when I hit the throttle super hard and it bogs down.

The pipe turning red hot is fine, my bike does that too. I have asked many mechanics about it and they said it was fine, and that is didnt affect anything with the motor or anything

sounds like the jets are still a little dirty, making it run lean. im sure you already know this, but anything running lean will be hotter..good luck

just like what jason said if its running lean your moter heats up more and it can melt the inside but when you run rich it dosent hurt the motor at all but u lose horsepower. my advise buy a dial a jet. quick and easy i got one on my yfz 450. and my pipe heats up to its because the pipe is really thin to save weight.
