![]() Anyone have any experience switching the crank on a 2001-2002 yz250f over to 2003+ crank? I'm finding some info, but with different names for the parts. I'd like to confirm if what is necessary is the '03+ crank, flywheel, nut/washer or if there is more to it. Thanks in advance! |

![]() Crank was different '01-'02 from '03-'13. Larger pin/ big end bearing, and different taper on the flywheel side. |

![]() Update: I think I'm going to be parting this one out as there are a few repairs on the cases I don't approve of and I don't think I'll make my money back if I build it right. Lukesracing.com offers a kit to do the conversion; however, the cost is way too high. He wants $400 for just the crank kit and $500+ for the crank kit and flywheel. |

![]() Definitely. I'm already tied up with a '12 CRF450R and '12RMZ450. So, I thought I'd give it a go with a "cheap" bike. Got it cheap and may still be able to get it together for under $1300... BUT the market down here is crazy. (Most) Everyone selling wants $2k for pw50s, but wants to buy FI 450s for $2k. I doubt they'd pay $15-1600 + for an '02, even if the motor is completely freshened up and the suspension too. Buyers just don't seem to see the value in that. |

![]() Used bike prices are ridiculous everywhere... you ought to look at what people are asking for CR500's! Flipping bikes could be quite profitable IF you can manage to scoop them up cheap but that's proven to be a real challenge in my area. |
