Had an '05 YZ450F for about a year...clutch and transmission was trouble free for me. If a shop "fixed it" and it still does not work I would take it back.

Inspect the transmission...check all the shift forks, shift drum and gears for wear. PITA job if you aks me but something in the tranny is definately worn.

well i think that he probably uses the clutch a quite a bit cause the only place that bike is rode is in the woods in tight trails. But this has been a occuring problems sense the first day he got the bike!!

Doh! He should have taken it back right then. Something certainly was not right.

Have you inspected the clutch cable itself? You said a new clutch was installed but how about the cable? Is it stretched? I'm shooting form the hip BTW but I ride with a guy that had a 4th gear problem and it ended up being one of the gears in his tranny and was in and out of the shop 3 times before being fixed.

Well do u really think that the cable would be streched after about only a few hours on it. He has had it for like 10 months but it really has not been rode that much. So I really dont think that the cable would be streched my bike has a crap load of hours on it and i have never had 2 replace the clutch cable!!
