Default 04 yz250f carb cleaning

Hey, so I just picked up a 04 yz250f at the end of last season and it's been sitting for a couple months. It'll start up and idle fine, but when I gas it, it dies out. I tried slowly adjusting the idle and when I turn it up it still dies out.

My friend said I probably need to clean the carb, I've never cleaned a 4stroke carb before, so where do I start?

Thanks for any help.

This husky post has the same carb as your 250F

Make sure you use a carb cleaner and an air compressor to blow out each jet. I could never get the jets clean until I added the air.

Very good post Dano....This should go into the "General Motorcycle Knowledge Base ".

Did ya notice the float bowl screws were allen heads...
Did ya notice the fuel screw could be easily turned with your hand....

I know I'm gonna get some "Husky is the best" talk, but honestly, I wish my Honda carb had the same setup.....

Shudup Macho......

Hey, thanks for the video, that was helpful...
So I cleaned out the jets and started it up no problem... I forgot to take off the choke before I reved it a couple times. When I went to take off the choke, it automatically died out, as if it weren't getting enough fuel. I adjusted the idle and that wasn't enough, it still died...
I'm gonna clean out the jets again, just in case my reving it with the choke on maybe gummed it up again??

But could this also be a fuel screw issue?
