I was warming up the bike on a stand last time out and the rear tire was turning slightly as it was running in neutral. Does this mean that my clutch plates need replacing? Does this mean I just need to adjust the clutch or last but not least is this normal?

I asked a simular question before, only I put the bike in gear and when I pulled or held the clutch the wheel was slightly moving. I thought I needed to adjust it for this to stop. When I got it to stop I was so far out of adjustment that when I was ridding it seemed as if the clutch was ingaged and I had alot of RPMs but no go. See what it does if you adjust the cable first at the lever then at the barrel at the end of the cable. It doesn't sound normal, or I should say my wheel doesn't turn like that. LOL

So maybe the clutch plates need replacing. I wish someone that knew about clutches would chime in here with thier 2 cents.

Perfectly normal for the wheel to turn Slowly, like it's just ever so slightly dragging. Now if it's spinning like your in first gear you have a problem. Mine does the same thing

I see this happen all the time on 2 strokes at mx races. The rear wheel will start spinning while its on a stand. I just considered this a normal thing. Now if it does what Ranger just said, yes you need a new clutch.

Was it your wife that pointed it out I bought mine new and when I got it home my wife came out to look over what I was so excited about. Well she gets to the back and notices the indention on the stock silencer. She said is that suppose to be like that? I Dunno "Well you better call and see", So I did I felt like an idot when the mechanic got on the phone. Good for a laugh though.

Rofl thats funny cause she asked the same exact question when it was loaded in the truck and waiting to go riding this weekend but the fires kept me away from Piru mx park. Last edited by Dirtbikindad393; 10-27-2003 at 10:33 PM.

All it is, is the oil sticking between the plates when the tire is spinning while on the stand when you have it in first gear and it is still moving...no wories normal stuff..

Doesn't it have something to do with the oil not being warm as well? I know mind does it when I first start it, but later in the day when it is warm it doesn't do it any more. Normal none the less in case you hadn't gleemed that from other posts yet...
