Macho, dont forget that at least one of my boys will be there from College Station. Maybe one of his friends, maybe one of my friends (Chris & christa moved back to Iowa) , working on my wife and daughter.

Motoman- It would be great to just follow, dont want to cramp it up more than what it needs to be.

Are you planning on camping or staying in a hotel?

better figure on less MPH than that. On our way to Colorado, it seemed like every highway/Interstate in the US is under construction.

Even on a good trip, figure about 50 mph average because when you stop, your average will drop quickly.

I agree Keeto, it is surprisingly hard to average even 60mph on a long trip due to stops and such.

But you can bet 76-80 will be averaged when possible.

Hey Keeto,

On the recent return trip from visiting Mike and riding at Splendora and Cycle Ranch, we were following semi's back to KC doing 80-85. It really cut down the trip time.

For motels, look in the Webster, Texas area. Webster is within 3-5 miles of Friendswood and the motels are very reasonable.

This is probably where I'll be getting my room.

Rick, let me know what hotel you are staying at. It would be cool if we all tried to stay in the same place.

Here is a list of motels in the Webster area:

Best Western Inn, 889 W Bay Area Blvd, Webster, TX 77598, (281-338-6000)
Comfort Inn, 750 W Nasa Rd 1, Webster, TX 77598, (281-332-1001)
Hampton Inn, 506 W Bay Area Blvd, Webster, TX 77598, (281-332-7952)
Howard Johnson, 915 W Nasa Rd 1, Webster, TX 77598, (281-316-2003)
Manor Care Health Svc, 750 N Texas Ave, Webster, TX 77598, (281-332-3496)
Motel 6, 1001 W Nasa Rd 1, Webster, TX 77598, (281-332-4581)
Select Suites, 1568 Live Oak St, Webster, TX 77598, (281-338-9400)
Suburban Lodges, 480 W Bay Area Blvd, Webster, TX 77598, (281-338-9440)
Wellesley Inn & Suites, 720 W Bay Area Blvd, Webster, TX 77598, (281-554-7482)

Here are some of the prices:

Comfort Inn: 2 double beds $54.00/1 king $49.00
Motel 6: 2 double beds $35.99/1 king bed $35.99.

For my choice in prices, it would be Motel 6 for me:
My plans are to have the room rented for the evenings of Oct. 17th and 18th. I don't mind if anyone wants to camp out on the floor, but for the price, I think this is our best choice.

Let me know what you all think.

Wow, that's quite a list Rick. Thanks man!

When you decide which one you are going to be staying at let me know, perhaps we could get one of them to give us a group discount if we can garantee a certain number of people.
