| Hey All, This past year's event was INCREDIBLE! I am still very amazed and humbled that an event like this even exists. I have been trying to "gather my thoughts" since everyone went back to their normal lives. Through the death of my son I have met so many incredible people who's hearts are so big that they make Texas look like Rhode Island in size- simply amazing. These events of GMBIII, the people, the smiles, the hugs, the laps and even the 'tears' bear much fondness and warm my heart. The compassion that comes from cyberspace is genuine - even larger than life when you have the pleasure of looking "that face behind the name" right in the eyes! Those looks that traverse the eyes, touching the soul in the deepest way possible.......... We Will Ride Again....... |

| Mr. Berg & Family, The fact that this event exists speaks volumes for you and Suzette as parents. Your son touched many lives while he was alive. He touches even more now that he is gone but not forgotten. Your family opening your hearts and house to strangers that you met on the internet would seem strange even ludicrous to most in our society. The fact that you do it speaks even more volumes for you and your family as to what kind of people you three are. A lot of people wouldn’t want to remember on an annual basis much less share it with hundreds more. They would just like to get past the anniversary and go on with their lives. It seems to me even though hard to do that you relish the GMB event and cherish that it even happens at all. People like myself who never met Garrett and can stand in front of you and shed tears. Why is that? I couldn’t help it I was moved by putting myself in your shoes and honored to be there and meet you, your lovely wife and daughter. I would like to personally thank you and your family for the hospitality. I had one of the best weekends of my life meeting my ATM family and making personal gains in my own life and riding ability. The weekend was one to be etched in my memories forever. I look forward to doing it again and again in the future. Sincerely, Dane Evans Dirtbikindad393 |

| Okay i just goose bumps reading the last couple of threads, seems hard to beleive that the death of one person that is so great can bring together infamous numbers of fellow riders and freinds together for a weekend and many weekends to come over the years to make lasting memories that one will never forget. I myself will never forget Garret, Mike, Shannon and Suzette for letting use into there family and there hearts for all to share the tragedy of one great rider, freind and son to whom we owe all the great days we share together in his memory!! |

I look back on both the GMB II and III and the one thing that stands out is that everyone there whether riding, flagging or volunteering to film the event is there not for their own satisfaction but rather with a purpose to honor Garrett and the Berg family. If we push a little harder on the track it is in an effort to do the GMB proud. If we help a fellow rider it is because of respect we have for our fellow riders. No one cares really that they are the "winner" but rather want to show how important the event is to them and put forth their best effort. Even as stressful as an event like this can be with all of the planning and coordinating, the members that handled it did so in such a way that it seemed effortless to the rest of us. We know it was alot of work but no one ever complained or let on that it was a burden. This is remarkable. This also shows you the caliber of people I am talking about. At this time I would like to pledge my time and will help in any way I can to make sure the GMB IV becomes a reality. |

I'll jump on that bandwagon too. I'm sure there's something I can do help make GMB IV a reality. |

i'd also like to jump on the 'gmb4 volunteer bandwagon' as well. i'm sure that there's plenty of work to go around, and i'll be more than happy to help out in any way possible. at this point, to me it's more an effort to ease the load on the relatively few people that got everything ready for us than it is to make sure that gmb4 becomes a reality ... because i know it will. the annual gmb memorial weekend is gaining the kind of momentum that's only rivaled by a runaway freight train. if there's anything that i can do, count me in. zack |
