Default GMB VIII -- October 3 & 4, 2009 -- Who's gonna be there?

My plan is to go and pay my deepest respect to the Berg family and to see some of the greatest folks (even you Sam !!) who ride dirt bikes. My boss threw me a curve on Thursday and told me I'll be going back to patrol and shift work on the 26th of September....just one week before GMB. I wasn't supposed to go back to patrol until after the first of the year. This change of assignment was not planned and is a result of some personnel issues (NOT me!!) and budgetary concerns. Hopefully it will not have any impact on my vacation.

Count a brother in! I've really been looking forward to the next GMB and getting to see some familiar faces and meet new ones all at the same time! I might even be able to carpool with the Twisters and save some gas!!

Ernie, I had EVERY intention of being there,! But the way things are working out with my wife's health, it's just not going to work out. I will get to shake your hand and the others down there one of these days. Garrett will be in my thoughts on that weekend,as he is quite often now.Jerry

Jerry,
Sorry to read of your wife's health issues. Staying home and taking care of her is the right thing to do. You'll make it one of these times. I hope her health improves.

Boyd,
The uncertainty is a tough one. I hope it all works out for you and Karen. Give that hottie wife of yours a hug for me and give yourself one for me too!!

Jimbo,
I know finances are going to make it tough for folks to make the trip. It is an unfortunate byproduct of the slow economy. I hope it all works out for you too and give your big manly self a handshake for me!!

It has been my intention to go for the first time this year. I hope to make it, but at this point it's hard to say for sure if I will be able to.

Big "E",

To say that were looking a every angle is an understatement. IF there is a way for us to be there... we're there!

I'll be sure to give the hugs too.

Patrol work? youre too damn old for that, arent you? at least with these smaller, new generation oxygen machines you wont have to worry about lugging a big ole machine around.

Unless something drastic and unforeseen comes about, Im there. Looking forward to:
seeing the Bergs and drinking Mike's fine scotch
seeing Ernie and smoking his fine cigars
seeing the Prag family and eating dave's fine barb b que
seeing Char, daniel and their family and eating some southern style TX roost
seeing Mxmama and her family and taking advantage of her new digs
seeing Howard and hugging his fine wife
seeing Boyd and hugging his fine wife
seeing all the rest of the fine people that will inevitably have something to say about my height and lack of riding skills

Looking to the good times indeed!

I will be in Shreveport labor day weekend for my mom's 80th birthday. 2 trips in the same month ,maybe I can persuade Lyn into letting me travel alone, she will be in school at the time. We will see.

Every year I tell myself I'm gonna make it back for another GMB someday... unfortunately I don't think it will be this year.

DUDE...that is where all the fun is!!! Sure, I'm not the young, good looking, head thumping stud I once was but when it comes time to get busy the ole man can still dish it out and run the dirtbags through Jiffy Lube and Tune!!
