April planning meeting

To all brothers planning to attend the April planning meeting in Houston, please get in touch and lets have a grip on how many are comming and be ready for the logistics of this work. You can P.M. me or Big Maico and we will coordinate the gathering.

I am bringing my son and wife to this since John is a member of the team and Monica is a team mom. Are any others bringing families?

Bill:

you can camp out if you want, But you need to rember that you'll be in east Texas in April which means that you might get some rain! Or have to deal with the famous Texas fire ant's!

If it gets to bad to camp out. It's just a 15 minute drive to casa Lobel.

Not particularly looking for a camp out

Howard,
I am not really trying to get a camp going. Whan we started the talk about the meeting several people said they were camping out at the track. My back would suffer mightly but I would do so to keep the brothers together. If we aren't camping out that is okay too. We are going to be there regardless.

I plan on being there also. Let us know what we need to do as far as the pre-planning and the days we need to be there. I may come up after work Friday or possibly take the day off. Let's Roll!

Please try & hook up with Texas Dirt Nap, He's looking for a caravan to the track from Dallas!

If anybody wants to come down Friday Please let me know & I'll take the day off!

I'll also cook some beer butt chicken's or maybe deep fry a turkey! for Dinner. I just need to know how many will be in town Friday so I know how much to cook!

And there will be plenty coffee cakes to go around!

I would like to camp, but I know how the weather is in Houston that time of year. Howard, can you research roach coach motels in the vicinity for those that are coming in? If all else fails, I would like to get a room fairly close to the track.

I plan on heading down on Friday right after Regina gets off of work so that a full weekend is open for much of the required discussion.

We have talked about filming the second race so that others could enjoy taking part in the race and it could serve as a means to bolster the Memorial Fund through worldwide sales of the video.

We are talking about professional photographers from Houston and Dallas area TV stations and professionally produced VHS and DVD's. We talked about having the entire track covered, including helmet cams from Racinace in EACH race if he would be willing to assist with this effort.

Well, I met with the photographers yesterday and discussed what is involved in filming the race and producing a professional product. As all things, it will not be that cheap, but may be worth pursuing anyway.

To pull it off, we are going to have to collect some up front $$ to cover the expenses of filming the event. The hope is that this can come from sponsors in exchange for advertising on the final product. I also believe that much of this could come from collecting a deposit through the site that would IMMEDIATELY go into the Memorial Fund as a donation and entitle the person to reduced pricing of the final tape.

2 of the photographers are planning on coming to the planning event in Houston to check out the site and record some footage that could be compiled into a trailer that can be used to lure sponsors and advance tape sales.

I think that this would be more than cool and allow those from around the globe that cannot participate directly be a part of the action.

Time to start the debate on how we can accomplish this and get you thinking about innovative ideas on what should go into the video.
